Lawrence was the only photographer present during the dismantling of
Wittenoom, an asbestos mining town in the North-West of Australia. This
documentation was financed by a State Government Grant and administered
by the National Trust of Australia (WA).
Lawrence has presented a Photography Workshop to people with mental
illness, financed by the Gordon Reid Foundation. He has also conducted
Photography Workshops to people in remote parts of Australia. He
also presents Photography Workshops from his base in Perth.
In the late 1970's Lawrence was resident Photographer at the famed
'Bombay Rock' Nightclub in Melbourne, covering some of Australia's
premier Rock Acts performing Live.
Lawrence produced Photographs for Calendars, Magazines, Record, Video
and Book covers. He has had public Exhibitions of his work as a
solo artist and also separately with groups of painters. He is
represented in Galleries in Australia and in online shows. The most recent Solo Exhibition ”Shadows and
Light” combined realist depictions with toned and dyed black and
white images. Lawrence recently won two Awards for Photography in the
United States and a US Navy Medal for a Photography Workshop.
He has directed a Live Television broadcast along with several Music
Videos. He regularly contributes to Art shows in Perth and recently judged a Photographic contest. He continues to work in Fine Art Photography, photographing
paintings for Artists and producing Photographic Books.
